PAMPA is currently looking to reduce its inventory of older issues of Stunt News. Effective immediately, back issues of Stunt News from 1996-2005 are available for $6.00 for per year. Thats right, $6.00 for six issues. Issues must be from the same year, member pays shipping cost.
This offer only applies to full year sets, e.g. there is no mix and match.
Again, this is only for years 1996-2005.
Years 2006 and 2007 are not currently available at the reduced price.

Update (August 25, 2008) Bob Hunt, the former editor of "Flying Models" and "Model Aviation" has assumed the duties as editor of "Stunt News" from Tom McClain. The bad news is that the unplanned transition between editors will cause a three to four week delay in the publication of the September- October2008 issue of "Stunt News". The good news is that Bob Hunt brings with him decades of editing experience and a new staff to assist him with the layout of "Stunt News". The PAMPA leadership and staff all regret this delay, but in looking at a few examples of the revised version of "Stunt News", we feel the results are worth the wait, and we hope the PAMPA membership will feel the same. Regardless, there will be 6 issues of "Stunt News" published this year, and we should be on track for normal delivery for the November-December issue.
Updates as to when the September-October 2008 issue of "Stunt News" will be distributed and available for download will be posted here.
Again, we thank everyone for their patience. The results will be worth the wait. Update (July 3, 2008) The July/August 2008 "Stunt News" is available for download to current PAMPA members. To download the July-August 2008 Stunt News, make sure you are logged into the PAMPA Website and go HERE.
Update (April 24, 2008) PAMPA now has all issues of its flagship publication, "Stunt News", available for download back to January/February 2006 for all registered members. These issues were generated from the original Adobe files sent to the publisher for printing. The resolution has been reduced slightly to make download time and web site storage space manageable. File sizes run between 13 megabytes to about 25 megabytes. If you try to download using dialup, it will take a while, but it should be well within the capabilities of those with cable, DSL, or other high speed connection.
To access the downloadable versions of Stunt News, just log into the PAMPA Website and go HERE
Note - Having "Stunt News" available for download does not change current membership options. Those who subscribed for a paper copy will still get a paper copy, and those who subscribed to get a high resolution copy on CD will still get their high resolution copy on CD.
If you are a PAMPA member but are having trouble accessing, please contact the PAMPA Webmaster for assistance. Also let the PAMPA Webmaster know of any technical issues, e.g. dropped connections, etc. Feedback on whether you consider this viable and/or feasible should me made through you District Representatives.
Remember, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system to read the on line version of "Stunt News", and you need to be logged into the PAMPA web site.

PAMPA is very pleased to announce the availability of a new, low-cost membership category!
As many of you know, the PAMPA staff has experimented with a digital and downloadable version of "Stunt News" for the past three months. The purpose of this test was to verify the viability of providing a quality product in a digital format. Based on the success of that experiment, we can now offer a PAMPA membership option that includes full access to all PAMPA published material, including the digital downloadable version of "Stunt News", for $25US. All the benefits of membership aside from a paper magazine or CD, for half the cost!
We believe this will be a real boon to those otherwise interested but unable to swing the (substantial but necessary) cost of delivering magazines and CDs. We all understand that the recent price increases for PAMPA membership put it out of reach or didn't meet the cost/benefit criteria, and we had been bandying this about for a year or so, but with the recent availability and proven practicality of providing the magazine on the website to the other membership categories, it's proven to be quite practical. We didn't want to act before we were sure it would work, and now we know it does.
The "boon" aspect of it definitely applies to the international members as well. Face it, $95 is A LOT of money. Now, you can get it for the same cost as US members.
One thing to note- the pictures in the downloadable (and CD) versions are all in color! That puts it one up on the printed magazine.
Note that this is practical only for those with reasonably high-speed Internet connections. The May/June SN is about 23 meg. If you have dial-up be prepared to wait a very very long time and I would suggest the chances are nearly zero of completing it without a disconnect at some point. But any sort of DSL/cable/T1 will work.
Note also that for the time being, you will still need to sign up conventionally - no on-line signup yet - we are working on that as well.
If you are interested, then download the PAMPA Membership Form in Adobe PDF Format and join today!

The PAMPA web site is configured to allow both the storage and retrieval of club newsletters by PAMPA members. As currently organized, the newsletters are available for download based on their AMA District. For international users, there is an international area as well. If there is sufficient interest, this can be further subdivided.
If your club has a newsletter that they would like to have posted on the PAMPA web site, please contact the PAMPA Webmaster . The preferable format is Adobe PDF, but if you do not have access to Adobe, other arrangements are available.
There are a lot of good newsletters out there with a lot of information on local activities, contests, building tips, etc. The PAMPA web offers a central location where they can be archived and retrieved without having to resort to mass emailings and the possibility of spam catchers deleting it prior to arrival.

The Precision Aerobatics Model Pilots Association (PAMPA) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. We are an organization of approximately 800 members in 35 countries, whose common interest is model airplanes, specifically the kind that fly tethered on control lines, and perform STUNTS. The models are often very beautiful, and are carefully constructed from traditional materials like balsa wood, silkspan, and dope. Top models are beautifully finished and extremely light and strong for their size.
The mission of PAMPA is to promote and improve control line precision aerobatics events.
PAMPA membership also includes the organization's publication, "Stunt News" which is published six times a year as well as full access to the PAMPA web site. Professionally edited and published in both paper and CD format, "Stunt News" is the labor of many PAMPA members from around the globe sharing their knowledge, wisdom, and experiences. The PAMPA web site has digital articles available for download, club newsletters, pictures, District/Regional information, scoresheets, rules, and contest/event calendars available for on line viewing.
For information on membership, delivery options, and format available, download the PAMPA Membership Form in Adobe PDF Format.
If you have not already joined, we look forward to having you as a member of PAMPA.
