The PAMPA web site is configured to allow both the storage and retrieval of club newsletters by PAMPA members. As currently organized, the newsletters are available for download based on their AMA District. For international users, there is an international area as well. If there is sufficient interest, this can be further subdivided.
If your club has a newsletter that they would like to have posted on the PAMPA web site, please contact the PAMPA Webmaster . The preferable format is Adobe PDF, but if you do not have access to Adobe, other arrangements are available.
There are a lot of good newsletters out there with a lot of information on local activities, contests, building tips, etc. The PAMPA web offers a central location where they can be archived and retrieved without having to resort to mass emailings and the possibility of spam catchers deleting it prior to arrival.

Over the past four years, use of the PAMPA website as a repository for PAMPA forms, publications, and announcements has grown to the point that the current software used to run the site is no longer able to meet the needs of the current and future membership. In order to streamline operations and reduce workload, new solutions are required that will ease the burden on the Treasurer and Membership Secretary to eliminate the tedious, redundant and time consuming procedures required of them with the current tool sets available.
For all current PAMPA members, you either have or will soon receive a ballot that not only includes Executive Council selections, but also a proposal to study upgrading the PAMPA web site. An upgrade, if approved, will be funded by contributions and donations by the PAMPA membership and will not be drawn from dues, regardless of service type. The upgrade proposals will include:
- A consolidated database of all members that only has to be entered once and can easily be updated by members on line. - The capability of joining or renewing membership using a credit card and/or Paypal. This will eliminate the requirement for the treasurer to manually enter all credit card payments one at a time. - The ability to upload and index large files without timeout. Timeout issues with the current software is a significant shortcoming, especially when uploading "Stunt News" for download for the membership. - An enhanced calendar posting capability that will allow district representatives a simple interface to post upcoming events. - The ability to order PAMPA products directly via credit card and/or PayPal.
The current capability sets will remain either at their present level or with improved performance and ease of use. This includes the ability of "Stunt News" contributors to upload articles and submissions to the Editor for proofing and publication.
PAMPA relies on the efforts and labors of unpaid volunteers to survive. The only compensation is the reward for the sharing of information and its enhancement to all who fly CLPA. The PAMPA website allows this now to happen in almost real time world wide. But, the workload on some key individuals has grown to the point that it is overwhelming at times and there are few who are willing or able to assist. An updated website and software package will help ease the burden, provide enhanced capabilities to all members, and continue with the services already available.
As always, please make your choice based on your conscience and what you think is right for PAMPA. Those of us who are involved daily with maintaining the membership status, database, and website ask that you support the PAMPA website upgrade study and if means are available will contribute to its implementation.

The Precision Aerobatics Model Pilots Association (PAMPA) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. We are an organization of approximately 800 members in 35 countries, whose common interest is model airplanes, specifically the kind that fly tethered on control lines, and perform STUNTS. The models are often very beautiful, and are carefully constructed from traditional materials like balsa wood, silkspan, and dope. Top models are beautifully finished and extremely light and strong for their size.
The mission of PAMPA is to promote and improve control line precision aerobatics events.
PAMPA membership also includes the organization's publication, "Stunt News" which is published six times a year as well as full access to the PAMPA web site. Professionally edited and published in both paper and CD format, "Stunt News" is the labor of many PAMPA members from around the globe sharing their knowledge, wisdom, and experiences. The PAMPA web site has digital articles available for download, club newsletters, pictures, District/Regional information, scoresheets, rules, and contest/event calendars available for on line viewing.
For information on membership, delivery options, and format available, download the 2012 PAMPA Membership Application in Adobe PDF Format.
If you have not already joined, we look forward to having you as a member of PAMPA.
